I've decided (against my better judgement) to make a Wheel of Fortune program that will be more like Todd's software than an actual game. There will be one major difference, however. This will be programmed in Basic, not Flash. Here's what I've got planned for features so far: - Optional "Toss-up" puzzles
- Optional "R S T L N E" giving at Bonus Round
- Adjustable timer (for length of game)
- Puzzle maker with individual squares for each character (I'm not as great at coding as BigJon is)
- Optional Jackpot round
- Blank puzzle board for between puzzles
What is NOT going to happen: - A wheel to "spin"
- The "Mystery Round" (largely for personal reasons)
- Spellchecking the puzzle for errors
If there are any features you wish for me to include, post! I'll put in a feasibility factor for each request.

Perhaps optional toggling from old/new puzzleboards?

Good on you, mate!
Will it look like the current version or the classic 80's letter-turning version?

Sounds like a excellent idea! Can't wait!
Just curious, if you don't have a spinning wheel what will you have in place?

Oh, you just don't realize what you're getting yourself into. You are GUT-SY!! I do realize what I'm getting myself into, and I know it'll be a long time before I'm done with it. I'm still in the planning stages, and this is why I'm opening it up now. As for the puzzleboard toggle, that might come at a later date. I figure the first thing I should do is get the thing working. Also, when the time comes for a puzzleboard toggle, it'll be the 80's version and not the 93 version. In place of the spinning wheel, I'm going to have an input box to put the dollar value of the spin (with buttons for Bankrupt, Lose A Turn, and Free Spin). This way, you can have your own configs of the wheel instead of being forced to use the TV show configs. As I said, this is going to be set up to host a show instead of just playing it. In other words, BYOW, use a random number generator, or use dice.

If your not going to have a spinning wheel you should just call the program Input Box of Fortune. Having the game w/o the spinning is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.

Hey, cool it, sonic. So it's mainly a puzzleboard program. That's just fine.

I'm thinking you're missing the point of this thread. I'm not making a game, I'm making a program that allows you to host the game. If you're willing to overlook what I've said many times, then maybe you should take a course in reading comprehension. I'm not joking, just stating a clear observation.

Some dumb questions, Grey:
Are you going to include scoreboard displays for three players (red, yellow, and blue) like the show as well? Maybe at the bottom of the screen, below the puzzle?
Also, any sound effects, like bells, buzzers, or the Bankrupt whistle?

Also, any sound effects, like bells, buzzers, or the Bankrupt whistle? Joe Scoreboards are a necessity in the design of the software. Sound effects will also be very crucial. I figure on going with all the sounds I can muster up. As it stands, I have a lot of sounds used from the show, and 90% of them are clean. The only "unclean" sound I have is the current puzzle solve cue. If anyone's willing to help me out, e-mail me about it. And Joe, the only dumb questions are the ones that aren't asked.
