Three years ago, I was writing a message about the day's events, during the time President Bush was making his announcement. Today, I do the same.
Although we may not always agree on what happened after our nation's attack, whether it be the War on Terror or the War in Iraq to secure our country, we all agree that on the morning, 9-11-01, the world stood still. We watched in devastation and awe in what had just happened. Never had any of us experienced such an event such as this. However, we all stood together as one and overcame the challenge that was thrown at us. We're even rebuilding on the same spot of the World Trade Center, creating a new Freedom Tower in memorial to those who had first-hand experience in what occured that morning.
We stood as one and now we remember.
May God bless America and the American people.

9/11 is an event for those who witnessed will never forget. I know this is deffinatly true for me. I was in my room sleeping in my parents house at the time. My Mom knocked on the door. She said, "There was an accident. A plane hit the World Trade Center." I knew when she said that to me it wasn't an accident. I rushed to a TV as fast as I could and when I saw it, it just didn't look right. A few moments I saw the second plane hit and my heart sunk. I remember at that time they still called it an accident until the next plane hit the pentagon. From then on I had to watch. I felt completly helpless and speechless. I didn't know what to do. I don't think many people did. Then I saw the out-pouring of love and hope. People donating blood, time and anything else that wasn't bolted down. Watching that is truly heart-warming. Something I will never forget. Today on the other hand made me really upset. I live in California and many of the channels showed cartoons today. It was regular programming. The only 9/11 coverage I got today was on cable and that was dissapointing. I was watching Fox and I thought that there would be some heart-warming tribute instead they showed Al Sharpton and Cox get into a debate which I found completly tacky. You would think today would one day that we would set aside our politics and issues. Then I spoke with my parents today and they completly forgot what today was. That's right. So I went on the streets today and found the same reaction. It seemed like people didn't care at all. I hope it's different on east coast but it's seems like here where I live it's complete apathy. That trully breaks my heart. I'm looking out my window right now and it seems like I'm the only one who hangs the American flag.
The only redeeming thing I found today was Robbie's tribute. Reading that gave me hope.
God bless the soldiers, America and all of us.
