Since were talking about Mario what is your most favorite Mario game of all time. My personal favorite is still Super Mario All-stars. It had the the first three games plus the one that wasn't released here. They did a good job at the time of updating the graphics and sound for the game. I still go back to it every once in a while to get my mario fix.
My second pic would be Super Mario 64. I lost alot of sleep over this game and loved every moment of it. I loved the graphics and the boss battles were great.

Super Mario Sunshine was also a great title even if it strayed from the Mushroom Kingdom tradition. I'm still trying to get more Shine Sprites. I've only earned 86 even though I've already completed the game.

Wow ! All of the votes are going for SMB All Stars. I thought people would have voted for other games in the series. I thought I'd give some more honorable mentions. I really enjoy the Mario Golf series. It's simple and fun. My favorite one is the GBA's Mario Golf: Advance Tour. It combines Golf with an RPG and It's very deep especially for a GBA game. I wish the Gamecube's Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour would have been as deep. I also liked the original Mario Bros. for the arcade. It's great especially if you have 2 players. With another person I can play for hours on end and still have a ton of fun. I wish there would have been a sequel to just that arcade game. The Mario Kart series is also great and the more people you can get to play it with you the funner it is. I can't wait to play the DS version (especially since you can play it online.)

WesternEstates, I should have looked you up when I was in Los Angeles the other month! It would have been great to play some games. Maybe some of us broadband users could discover a good way to play online. I know it's possible.

Todd, I know there's netplay capabilities with NES emulators (NEStopia is the one I use now). ZSNES (Super NES emulator) also has netplay, I think. I never tried it myself, so I don't know how it's done (I'd have to read the help file, I guess). I'd definitely be interested in playing some classic (S)NES multi-player games online. Sounds like a good topic for yet another gaming thread!

I'm going to investigate this and get back with anyone who's interested in playing some games on the internet. Give me some time to get back with you on it. I think it would be a blast!

I have a ZNES on my computer but I have no idea as to how the netplay works. I never used it before.

On the side, have any of you ever played the VS. Super Mario Bros. game? It's practically the same as the Super Mario 1 game for the NES but it was retailored to be a coin-op. Many levels changed, more enemies exist, and some of the 1-up mushrooms and power-up mushrooms have either been removed or moved elsewhere on the gaming map.

I have played that game -- that one's really difficult!
Anyway, my favourite's gotta be All-Stars. It's awesome being able to play all 4 Mario games (including the Japanese Mario Bros. 2) without even having to change the cartridge, and the fact that the game could be saved and then resumed at the same world you reached (or, in Lost Levels, the same level you reached) means that if I've reached level 8 and I need to go somewhere I don't have to start all the way back at level 1 (unless someone deletes the game).
