Where do I begin
? I'll just make a list of my favorite series.
1. Grand Theft Auto
2. Gran Turismo
3. Zelda
4. Deus Ex
5. Ratchet & Clank
6. Metal Gear
7. The Elder Scrolls
8. Zelda
9. Metroid
and last but not least 10. any Mario game.
Now for my favorite games
1. Deus Ex The conspiracy (PS2)
I was just turned on to this recently. One of the deepest FPS's I've ever played. It really caught me of gaurd. There is a ton of story here and the great thing is depending on your actions you can change the outcome of the game. It has several diffent endings (all of which are good) I got this for the PS2 and the controls are pretty tight. The only bad thing I can think of about this game is the graphics are a little dated and the same kind of enemies appear over and over. The great thing about this game is you can get used at ebgames for $6 a real steal. If you play this and like I highly suggest Dues Ex: The Invisible war for the Xbox. You won't be dissapointed although the game is a little short.
2. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (XBOX)
This is another one of these games that caught me off-guard. To decribe this as epic would be an understatement. One of the first feelings I felt playing was I was overwhelmed. There is so much to do and so many quest to go one. It's like a MMORPG minus the MO. I think I've spent more than several hundred hours of game play on it and it doesn't get boring. The only thing I wish they would have added was vehicles. You spend a lot of time going from point A to pint B. If you get this game you get your moneys worth.
3. Super Mario Bros. 3
The great thing I remember about this game was at the time it was released (unless you were stingy) you didn't really play it by yourself (especially if you were a kid). It was a very social game and the only Mario game that I can ever remember being like that. In matter of fact until Super Mario World came out I very rarely played it by myself. In matter of fact some of my fondest memories were with this game. Also I think it was one of the funnest games around at that time and to me was addictive as Tetris.
4. Sim City (SNES)
This was the first strategy game I ever played and boy it was a good one. Slowly watching you little city become a huge metropolis is so satisfying. The other great thing I liked about it was destroying what you created. My favorite disaster was Bowser.
5. pachinko monogatari : pachislo mo aru de yo!
(Pachinko Legends : Also with Pachislots)
(Super Famicom)
There were alot of great pachinko games that came out on the Super Famicom and this was one of them. The unique thing about this game at the time was it included pachislots (the only diffrence between a pachiclots machine and a regular slot machine is you can stop each of the individual reels on your own on a pachislot machine) The object of the game was to turn your 10,000 yen into 100,000 yen which is not a easy task. You can play diffrent games on diffrent floors of the building. One floor was for the pachislots, one floor was for pachinko, one floor was battle pachinko (a game for two players) and one floor was the arcade floor that housed a classic game of breakout. The great thing about this game was you felt like you were in a pachinko house. The ambient noises were excellent and all around a great game.
6. Sugoro Quest ++ -Dicenics- (Super Famicom)
This was based on the sequel for the famicom. This is one of the best multiplayer games for the system. It was a RPG board game. During the game you go on various quests and battle your fellow players. I wish they would have made a American version of this.
7. Captain Tsubasa III (Super Famicom)
This has to be one of the most unique games I've ever played. Imagine combing soccer and a RPG. Sounds nuts doesn't it but it was a great experience. It had all of the qualities that made for a great RPG including great graphics, one of my favorite sound tracks of all time and a good story. I also forgot to mention that this was based on a famous anime.
8. DX jinsei game (Deluxe game of life) (Sega Saturn)
This is one of the best board game games I've ever played and yes it's based on the game of Life. Once again it combines a RPG with a board game. There were alot of cool jobs that you could choose from including a inventor, gambler, hero, villian, etc. Another game I wish they would have imported here.
There are more I can tell you about but stop here for now.
