I was browsing through the EB website today and I saw the specs for the PSP and I find it to be pretty impressive. Take a look: PlayStation Portable System Specs Dimensions (WxDxH): 6.7 in x 2.91 in x 0.91 in Weight: 8.36 oz Controller: D-pad Processor: MIPS R4000 Processor Clock Speed: 1-333MHz Processor (2nd): MIPS R4000 Processor Clock Speed (2nd): 1-333MHz Main Memory: 32MB Video Memory: 2MB EDRAM Fill Rate (pixels): 664 Mpixels/s Fill Rate (triangles): 33 Mtriangles/s Display: 4.3" 16:9 widescreen TFT LCD Resolution: 480x272 Colors: 16.77 million colors Brightness: 200 cd/m2 Speakers: Built-in stereo speakers Game Media Format: 1.8GB UMC disc I/O Connectors: 1 x audio out, 1 x microphone, 1 x control connector, 1 x USB 2.0, 1 x Memory Stick Pro Duo, IrDA, IR remote Integrated Communications: 802.11b Wi-Fi Media Drive: UMD Drive Battery: Lithium-ion battery Notice it doesn't say how much the average battery life is (Hmmm ) another thing that bothered me was the pricing point for the memory sticks. The cheapest price point I could find on the EB site was $40 for a 128 MB. The one thing it doesn't say is if you can use any memory stick or if you have to use something dedicated to the system. I still have mixed feelings for the system. It has so many things going for it and yet you see some of the problems and it makes you question buying it. I'm curious if any of you are going to buy the PSP when it launches? www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/520683.asp

I'm not very interested in the PSP. It's great that it can do all these flashy games and all. But if I have to constantly worry about battery life, it's not worth it to me.
Personally, I believe the Nintendo DS, though technically less dazzling, is a whole lot more up my ally for portable games. The touch screen and microphone are two features that I think will make the DS' games more fun though they won't be as flashy as the PSP.

I was reading the official U.S. Playstation magazing today and they had alot of information on the PSP including the news we've been wanting to hear.
For games it has only 4 hours of battery life and two for movies.
Good news is that sony promises that there will be revamped versions of the PSP in the future (One might come in as early as Christmas) that will improve the battery life by how much is still a question.
