You probably remember me telling you that I have a VHS tape of the Halloween '94 episode of Family Feud. I need some serious advice on how I can show all of you some screen grabs and perhaps even video clips from the show.
Todd, I hope the grabs and clips can help you develop your FEUD '94 project. (If you're still interested.)

first off youll need a website to store the pics or vids i recommend not getting Geocities, but would recommend a yahoo group to do it. Next youll would have to post a link to the pic or vid. Then we click on link to view pic or vid thats attached to the link. And viola it is done.

Let me try a different question. How do I convert the analog information on my tape to a digital videotape?

I don't think there is such a thing as a digital videotape. By digital I meant 8mm tape used in a "Digital" camcorder. I know how to get video from the 8mm tape onto a DVD, which I assume you can get screen grabs from. What I want to know is... how do I get video from my VHS tape onto an 8mm tape?

Take it to a Photoshop or Photostore they might be able to convert standard vhs to 8mm, i know they can convert 8mm to vhs. I know a Photography store at my local mall that can do conversions, but im uncertain that they can do reverse conversions. well i hope this info helps you.
Grey: Those DVR (digital video recorders) can be considerd digital videotape, despite the fact that the video is recored on to a hard drive of sorts.

If you only want to take screenshots from an episode, you can do like I do and use a gadget called a Snappy. It plugs into your VCR or TV and into the Parallel port on your computer. With the installed software, you can "snap" stillshots from the TV screen onto the computer. The company that makes the Snappy went out of business a while back so you may want to check on EBay for a Snappy.

If you have the information on a VHS tape, you can transfer it to DV tape by pluging the camcorder into the VCR and record it onto the Camcorder... do you understand my wording?

Let me try a different question. How do I convert the analog information on my tape to a digital videotape? OK heres how you do it.... put the analog video tape into the VCR. (Im assuming that the analog tape means the standard VHS tape). Most camcorders comes with a cable that enables you to plug it into the Tv so you can watch it on it. Insted of putting in into the TV go the back of the VCR and plug those RCA cables into the the OUTPUT RCA jacks. Then you take the camcorder into VCR mode then you hit play on the VCR and RECORD on the camcorder. On the camcorder that I use (Canon GL2) you have to hit the record button then it makes the pause/play symbol show up, when you see that hit the play key on the camcorder then it will start to record. Did this help you at all barneyg? No responce in a while... All of the technology possible for that is in a small room in a library at the college I am currently attending. We are currently in Spring Break, meaning I won't be doing anything until March, 21. So the best I can do is read all of the responces very carefully and see if it is possible the next time I go into that room. I forgot what it's called, but it is a useful room.
