There were quite a few good behind-the-scenes shots. Nothing too revealing, but good nevertheless.

There were quite a few good behind-the-scenes shots. Nothing too revealing, but good nevertheless. I thought it was VERY revealing. I learned why the faceoff camera shot always looked "off-center". There are three cameras standing "sholder-to-sholder" to each other. Cameras #2, #3, and #4 The middle camera (#3) gives us the centered wide shots of the set, zooms in towards the family who wins a round, and (not so much anymore) zooms in on Ray walking across the stage to the opposing family for the steal. Camera #2 gives us close-up shots of the gameboard during the front game and fast money. Camera #4 gives us the faceoff shot. About the bankroll displays on the podiums. While Roseanne and Tom Arnold are opening a show, you can hear a noise... It sounds like the audience clapping their hands to a song, but it's too slow to be the Feud theme. Could it be papparazi taking pictures in-sync of the couple? These sounds however coincide with the displays alternating from FAMILY to >FEUD<. Could the sound possibly be from the displays themselves? Could the be "clicking" mentioned some months back?

I think the "FAMILY >FEUD<" is Ferranti-Packer. That's probably the clicking you're hearing.

I thought that I was the only one that heard that. At first I thought it was just camera taking pictures of the Roseanne and Tom. But you could see the Family <Feud> switching in there. That is great. I also thought that this show showed great behind the scene looks. I have Cox DVR. Maybe I can go back on there a load the show on to my computer and post pictures from there. Does anyone have a copy of the 1994 FF? I just would like to see a little clip of that!

I think the "FAMILY >FEUD<" is Ferranti-Packer. That's probably the clicking you're hearing. For the sake of consistancy, the company who made those displays is called "Ferranti-Packard." They used to make all sorts of old computer parts. And the display type they made and were used on Family Feud is called "flip-dot displays." As it's name suggests, each pixel is a magnetic disk, yellow on one side, black on the other and is flipped with electromagnets. They're noisy. You can hear them on the original Feud on ocassion, especially when an answer is correct, a "clang" is heard, but the panel is late in turning over. Also, during Fast Money, if you turn your volume up pretty loud, you can hear the little flip-dots turning over.
