Today, Dawson said they were in the middle of January. Wasn't there a Christmas/New Year's episode?

I wonder if GSN skipped a lot of episodes...just a few weeks ago, they were celebrating Richard's Birthday (airdate 11/21/78). I wonder if they skipped over the episodes aired around Christmas 2004 when they skipped ahead and showed Christmas 1978 episodes of Feud.

During the month of December, didn't they skip ahead to Christmas '78 and then go back to where the left off? If so, they must have reached the point where they started the Christmas episodes and then skipped ahead to '79.
Did anyone else notice the removal of that ugly border around the bank display?

I'm talking about the thin frame that surrounded the bank display...the score above the large rotating trilon. Need a screengrab?
