Before I touch anything on the Flash side of things, I've started to go back to Photoshop for some extra touchups on the board. Specifically, I'm making the gold trim around the board more shiny appearing and I'm adding some fine details to the bank and score readouts. Pictures will be updated on the web site as work progresses.

Thanks for the update, Todd. I get distracted easily by shiny things, so I'm sure I'll like the the update to the board, ;D. Are you gonna update the border around the face-off podium to look more shiny too?

Are you gonna update the border around the face-off podium to look more shiny too? I think it (the podium) already matches pretty well with what it looks like on the show. I think the coolest thing is what I have done to the bank and score displays. It's a small detail but I feel it worthwhile to work on.

The letters that spell out the show's logo are indeed yellow, not gold. They have no shimmer or shine; they are painted a flat yellow color. At least, it's going to be flat yellow in the program. In the interest of keeping everyone up to date, I took my laptop with me on vacation this past weekend and finished a few updates. The shiny gold isn't something that turned out too good but here are a few things that came out of it: -Detailed digits used to make up the score and bank. Look for pics on the internet soon. It's a small detail, however, so don't expect to yell Eureka when you see it. -Cleaner look of the board with enhanced shadow effects. Again, it's a minimal change. -Real-time sound effects for panels. In the old game, I sampled a sound from the show of the bell and panel clicks as one wav file and matched the animation as good as I could. Now, the bell and panel clicks are separate wav files and can be cued whenver the panel action is played. The panels will also flip much faster to match the updated board.

Thanks for the update, Todd. I knew the lettering in the logo was solid yellow, lol. So, do you plan on updating the preview software to include these new features, and if you do will it open in Flash Player or will it be another .swf? Also, I have the more accurate panel answer font if you want it. Thanks again.

The preview software was just a gesture on my part to let everyone know that I wasn't making excuses about not finishing Family Feud Challenge. I really DID lose the data and I thought everyone who was looking so forward to the new version deserved to at least have a look at it. In other words, there will be no more "pre-release" software for FFC. I will have a beta version at some point for beta testers but that's about it. The final release will be an EXE file complete with instructions. I don't know how long it's going to take to get a beta version up. Right now, with a few minor exceptions, I have the intro and main game running perfectly fine. Most of Fast Money is complete. I have yet to add the Bullseye round. I'll keep everyone up to date.
