Several people who have beta tested the software pointed out a misunderstanding I had of the rules for Pyramid. I assumed teams alternated. Apparently, there is another method for determining turns.
Could someone clarify for me the order which the teams go? I believe after the first two categories are played, the team that's behind goes next. Is this correct?
Thanks for your help.

After four categories have been played (this means each team has played two categories) who ever is behind at that point goes next.

I think this is my last rules question and we can then more on:
When a contestant wins the Winner's Circle, what was the dollar amount displayed once it was won? I know, obviously, $100,000 flashed if it were the tournament but for non-tournament games I just don't have any idea.
Thanks!

For the first win in the winner's circle the person wins $10,000 For the second win they win an addition $15,000 for a total of $25,000 but instead of flashing $15,000 they just flash the total of $25,000 instead. Also this is just a suggestion but on the show during the winner's circle if someone won a $100,000 all the categories on the winner's circle board would sway back and forth and I hope you you can add that .

Just so there's not a shred of misunderstanding... For non-tournament play...
First WC of the episode is always $10,000.
If the contestant for the first WC won, and advanced to the second WC, the 2nd WC is worth $15,000.
If the contestant loses the first WC, the 2nd WC is worth $25,000.
If the contestant for the 2nd WC is not the contestant who played the 1st WC, then the 2nd WC is for $10,000.
I hope this helps.

Wait, on $100,000 Pyramid, the top prize per day was $25,000? I always thought it was $10,000 and $25,000 for a total of $35,000. Any way that you can clarify the rule whoserman? I know on Osmond Pyramid the top prize period was $25,000

I remember that happening on the John Davidson version and it's just a neat little effect. It might make the program drag (slow down) a bit, though, so I'd use it judiciously. I didn't see it during Dick Clark's run of $100,000 Pyramid. I don't know if it might have happened later in the season or not. And as a general rule for anyone making a game: $100,000 tournament games have no bonus squares (7-11, Mystery 7, Gamble for a Grand) at all.

Here is a link for a website that has the rules for all of the Pyramid versions (including the most famous CBS run) if there are any further questions: www.chris-lambert.com/RULES/Pyramid.htmlOne additional note worth mentioning. The site above mentions the fact that in CBS' later runs, the tie-breaker after a 21-21 (perfect front game) was worth $5000 to the team that either got all 7 of the tie-breaker words correct or did it in the shortest amount of time. May be worth adding to the program as an option on the start screen (tie-breaker worth $5000 or just as a win).

Speaking of additional notes during the $100,000 tournament the only available bonus during the game is if any player breaks a 21/21 tie that team wins $5,000. Also If the $100,000 is won during the first half of the show the second half is played by the two losing players. Whoever wins that player goes on to the winner's circle and plays for $10,000. Here's a place that I found that has pretty good detailed information of the rules. www.loogslair.com/gameshow/rules/pyramid.html

ok well for the non tournament mode it was just like the regular 25,000 pyramid game. whatever contestant went to the winners circle first it was 10,000 and if that same contestant got there again in the second round it was 25,000, but if the other contestant that didn;t make it the first time there then it was still only 10,000. hope that clears that up for ya. I know some people said it was 15,000 but I know I have never seen or heard of that before. it has always been 10,000 and 25,000 just like the regular 25,000 pyramid. I even have episodes where dick clark even said the game is played like the normal game too. Just thought I would clear that up, this was my favorite show so i was obsessed with it.

It was just the prop guys having a little fun, it didn't happen every time, and in fact it looked pretty bush on TV. I would strongly suggest not bothering yourself over this little detail. If a user wants a special celebration for a $100K win they can throw confetti or something.

Or toss the computer running the game.

I think the trilons have swayed for some $10,000 wins in the past. I remember seeing one. I don't know how often it happened.
I think the whole thing would be an awesome touch to the game, but if it's an inconvenience, it oughtta be left out.
