WOW! thats all I can say. WOW! not only did I get a new car today I came home to find a release of this, this has been the best day of my life, well not really, hehe but it's close. So yeah I know this is a first release so I'm not going to criticize too much. But I noticed playing the bonus game after u win that the music doesn;t start right away unless u right click on the mouse bring down the menu and hit play nor is there bells when u win either, the amount flashes which is cool but no music until u bring that screen down and hit play, now I understand there are lots of bugs to work out as u said just figured I would help post them for ya too. umm the second thing that I noticed is when u win in the winners circle the lights all flash but the trilons don't flash either like they do at the start of the show, again I know this is a first release and will only get better. anyway thats all I can find, keep up the good work Dean

Really cool! A couple of things:
1. When I hit x on my keyboard meaning an illegal clue was given, no sound was heard signifying the illegal clue.
and
2. when one team gets enough points to win the game (like maybe they needed 4 points for instance), once a team met that goal, that game ended right there. On this though, the game went right on.
All in all though, an awesome first try. Keep it up man!

1) That's probably so you can DQ a word OR pass a word with that key.
2) That's probably in case a 7-11 or Mystery 7 is in play. It requires less coding, I assume.
What I will note, however, is that sometimes hitting the C key in the WC for a correct response will stop the round.
Also, the top category in round 2 reads the first word from its list, then goes on to read words from category 3's list.
Other than that, lookin' mighty spiffy, Todd!

The 2nd answer makes sense, but the 1st answer is not true. You pass with the p button, the x button is for throwing out words only.

Actually, when you pass with the p button, the game never comes back to the answer you passed.
As for what I think of it ... all those months of waiting were well worth it! It's awesome !!!

Graphically, this game is teh awesome! But, like you said, this thing isn't completely done yet.
I noticed that during a tie-breaker, only the first word comes from the actual tie-breaker set (not to mention that all the points go to the left team!). Might want a look at the wording of the statements on that one.
Something else I noticed was that when the second WC gets played, it fouls up big time.
If you play through the entire game, the timer will disappear and control on the program is lost. Also, it always dips into the first game's WC categories.
Also, someone needs to figure out how to get an ampersand to display. I've yet to do so and it's driving me nuts. (That's for his one answer of "HANSEL & GRETEL" and it only displays "HANSEL, including first quote)
Also, didn't passing on a word give the contestants an opportunity to come back to it if time permitted?
Once the code gets a little bit of extra work done on it, this will be on the same level as the FFPS, Todd. There is no reason why it won't be. I love it.
adamjk: To instantly terminate the category in the event that a team wins and the 7-11/Mystery 7 is not in play, use the "Home" key. This will signal the theme and have the "WINNERS" graphic come up.

Thanks for posting all the bugs and issues. Had I realized there would be this many, I wouldn't have released it at all. I need to make sure to update the home page to let people know it's not ready for a complete game yet!
Some of the problems sound like variables carrying over from one round to the next. I cannot explain game 2's main game with the category 2/3 problem that Grey pointed out but the second Winner's Circle is probably messing up so bad because the variables I use to control the flow of the game aren't being set back to zero. That should take care of a lot of the problems.
The tie game issue...I'll have to see about that. I've never had problems with the tie games. If someone could, please post what keys you're pressing to make the game behave in this way. Not that it's user error, but please re-check the documentation to make sure you're pressing the right keys. If wrong keys are being pressed, I need to disable them for certain parts of the game.
If you could, please go over the documentation and help me make sure the rules for the game are correct. Also, please keep in mind that I'm sticking to the $100,000 Pyramid rules only.
Thanks for the comments about the flashiness of the software. Though it may look pretty, rest assured that I WILL NOT BE SATISFIED with it until it works as good as it looks.
Thank you all for your support and your participation in the review and comments of this project. I really do appreciate it.

The Flash movie just doesn't like it. It looks for an ampersand to go to the next variable...I just forgot to replace it with the word "and."

This is also pointed out in the documentation. I can't stress enough how important it is to read the documentation before reporting problems.

Try using a double ampersand, I know in VB, using a double ampersand will create a signle displayed ampersand.
BTW: I also got the 'C button ends the Winner's Circle round' bug, in WC number 2. Round 1's WC worked well for me, however, the buzzer did not sound when I pressed the illegal clue button.

Round 1's WC worked well for me, however, the buzzer did not sound when I pressed the illegal clue button. I don't think the Visual Basic trick is going to work. Flash is reading a CGI file and doesn't like that ampersand. It's not a matter of how I code Flash. It's a matter of how Flash reads the text file. Also, there's no buzzer sound for giving an illegal cue during the Winner's Circle round (that I know of). I would like, however, to add some cool sounds of the trilons turning. There's a variable that counts how many times the C button is pressed. If it's pressed six times, it tells the movie that all answers were correct and it can go to the winning sequence. Well, when you to to the next Winner's Circle round, that variable hasn't been reset. That's why Winner's Circle Round 2 acts so funny. ...and it doesn't go to the credits screen like it should. I think I've fixed it. I never spotted the tie-game bug where all points go to the left team. I did fix that one today.

Actually, each time I've heard an illegal clue given during the Winner's Circle, a buzzer signified that an illegal clue was given (I think it's the same buzzer used when time runs out, but I know that a cuckoo is used during the front game, and a buzzer is used in the Winner's Circle). Then again, that might've been added in during a later season. (At least that's what I remember happening on the $100,000 Pyramid. I wonder why they used the "time's up" buzzer rather than the cuckoo in the Winner's Circle ...) That would be awesome, though, to add the sounds of the trilons turning ^_^ Also, I noticed that there was nothing wrong with the passing and that it was supposed to be that way about 10 minutes after I had logged off for the night, but then again, someone else probably would've asked that question, so maybe it's best that I didn't get the chance to delete it.
