Well, you spend months waiting, then I turn around and release a game a day!
R.C. 2 is up. Mainly it fixes some problems with the first release candidate. I added the missing sound effects as well. As usual, post comments here.

Amazing what a few quick changes can do!
Is anyone having a problem moving into Main Game 2 after a Bonus Game 1 win? I hit Page Down over and over, but can't seem to get into Game 2.

Some things. * Winner's Circle win music does not play for me when the bonus is won. Also, the program does not let me continue when the bonus is won. * "$1,100" and "X", X being the name of the Mystery 7 prize should blink and bells should ring when either of those is won. *When a main game round ends with time running out, the current word should disappear, and the "PRESS HOME" message should appear. * "$5,000 WINNERS" should blink when a 21-21 tie is broken, as winners of a 21-21 tie won $5,000. * During a tiebreaker, the first word comes from the proper tiebreaker file, but the others come from the last category picked. Very nice job other than that.

Well, I finally was able to download this, and I'm glad I did. To summarize my opinion of this game, WOW! The only two problems for me though, is that all the maingame and WC categories say "$100,000 Pyramid panel in action" and the maingame subjects all say "Test text". I'm using the SWF version, if that helps anything, and I put that file in the main Pyramid folder, where the instructions are. Also, (and this is kinda picky) the font for the $10,000 and $25,000 WC win graphics should be in the same font as the maingame subjects or the "Winner's" graphic. Still Todd, all that hard work has really payed off! Congrats!

Hmm...looks like I have a button disabled for the Winner's Circle game win. You should be able to use "Play" from the Flash menu to get past it for now. Sorry about that.
Casey, you need to download the Windows version and place the Game1 and Game2 text files in the same directory as the SWF file.
Otherwise, I realize there are several flashing text messages that need to be added. I don't consider those message priority right now. I want to make sure the game is running 100% before worrying about those things. Besides, you don't have $5,000 cash laying around to give someone, do you? :-)

Some things. *When a main game round ends with time running out, the current word should disappear, and the "PRESS HOME" message should appear. Because of the way I set the game up to run, this isn't going to happen. I know it's not exactly true to the show but it's not going to kill the classic game show feel either. Sorry to have to tell you that!

Casey, you need to download the Windows version and place the Game1 and Game2 text files in the same directory as the SWF file. I believe that's what I did. The SWF is in the Pyramid folder, along with the instructions and sample catagories, and the Game 1 and Game 2 folders are in the Pyramid folder as well. Or do I need to move the text files out of their own folders?

I have a couple of questions about the clue font:
1. Could it have a black outline vs. the drop shadow? 2. Would Garamond look more like the show's font than Times New Roman?
And aside from the nit-picking from your humble end-users (see above), this program is a fine piece of work! Well worth the wait. Thank you.
Thank you for doing what I'm sure all of us here have been hoping a mainstream developer (like Sierra) would do someday, which is publish software that truly emulates the look, style and feel of the game shows we love. Great stuff.
- End butt-kissing -

Or do I need to move the text files out of their own folders? Here's a file tree: [Pyramid Folder] | |-Pyramid RC2a.SWF | |--[Game 1] | |--categories.txt etc. etc. In other words, you need to have the Game1 and Game2 subfolders in the same directory as the SWF.

Great stuff. - End butt-kissing - Joe Thanks very much (wipes butt). I can't figure out a way to make the shadow/outline effect look any better. I know it's not true to the show. Maybe I can work with some fonts and figure out a way to make them look better. Anyway, I've experimented with several fonts and can't seem to find one better than the one I'm using right now (it's not Times New Roman). The font you suggested could work. Maybe I'll run into a better font some day. Meanwhile, it serves its function.

Great stuff Todd...many thanks!!!
The absolute ONLY thing that I've noticed is that the dollar amount for the second game WC does not flash when won.
