I remember we had some discussion a while ago as to how the lit borders around the trilons behaved during the bonus game. I transcribed three episodes of Pyramid yesterday and I've got a definitive answer, and it's actually pretty easy. When a trilon is resolved, either correctly or through disqualification from an illegal clue, the border turns off. Period. (For a right answer it usually happens immediately after the box turns to the money side, for an illegal clue it happened as the box was being rotated to the logo side.) At the end, when it is turned back around for post-mortem, the border remains off. (There were isolated incidents when the border remained lit, but since they were special situations like an illegal clue for the last box, thus ending the round, I'm guessing the prop guys either forgot or just didn't bother. Our prop guys don't miss these details. ) The box itself _always_ remains illuminated, until the host throws to the break, at which point they start going through their demo cycle, but we knew that. I mention this because the current WC behavior is correct for a right answer, but leaves the border on for a disqualified answer. Mind you, I'm more interested in functioning software than verite, but I thought I would point it out while it was on my mind.

Chris,
Thanks for pointing all of this out.
I've seen this all being done different ways. The thing is, I don't think there's much that has stayed the same about Pyramid over it's run. The way I have it now with the border staying lit is the way I've always remembered seeing it and it's the way it works on a couple of episodes I have.
It makes more sense to turn the border off and so I'll probably change it back the way I had it before, which is the way you've described it.
I think of all the games I could ever hope to work on, this one is the most technically complicated to do.
