For about 7 years now I've been dealing with a very odd case of nail fungus that I've been fighting. I'm seeing a new dermatologist from Duke hospital and my first visit was yesterday.
My annual checkup with my regular doctor was last month. During the checkup, he circled a place on my back to have the dermatologist look at since I was going anyway.
Yesterday was the dermatologist appointment where she looked at that spot and noticed another one as well. She recommended a biopsy right away and did so immedietely. I'll find the results out later on when she calls back. Though I don't think they're cancerous, I'll appreciate any thoughts and prayers. It could be but we'll see.
I normally don't use my position to push my opinions or to advertise agendas so understand this isn't myself in normal form. But please, if you don't get regular checkups, start doing it now. I have a friend and some family members who weren't so lucky because their cancer wasn't detected early on.
Thanks for reading this. Now, on with the Feud...

when did you notice that when you went to the docter or have been suffering strange syptoms I haven't had any symptoms. I just went for a regular checkup and the doctor circled one of the spots and told me to show it to my wife so she could point it out at the dermatologist's visit. You really don't have symptoms unless you're too late, I believe.

Gee, it seems as though almost everyone I am friends with has some sort of medical illness, including myself.
Hope all goes well with you. Get well sooner. ^^

If I didn't have any money, you wouldn't see anything when you go to www.katymae.com. Besides, health benefits go a long way.

Great news, everyone. The doctor said the two places removed were a normal mole and another "something-else-I-can't-pronounce). No worries!
Thanks for your concern, everyone. I'm glad this was just a wake-up call and nothing more.
