So I just used v4 to transcribe today's show. It is AWESOME. I didn't realize you had it set to automatically upcase items where appropriate (I don't have to hold down Shift anymore! Now I just have to remember to shift for quotes! . And with the Association boxes and the cheat sheet, I can d**n near transcribe a show in real time. Incredible! I think you're right about the Enter issue (it's actually a Control-A character, but who's counting), because I don't do that and it worked just peachy for me. I notice when a new game is loaded, the Save Cheat Sheet checkbox is cleared if it was previously checked. Is that intentional?

No, but I can make it checked when the editor loads a "cheatsheet.txt" file. That's what I was thinking. It'd be nice, but I'm not sure a new version is necessary, unless you're gonna do something about that "error" that Marshall had, and personally I think Don't Freakin' Hit Enter is perfectly reasonable tech support for that one.

OK...
I uploaded a new Pyramid Clue Editor v4. This one:
* Treats the Enter key as a Tab key in the text boxes * Checks "Save Cheat Sheet" when "Load Game" detects a "cheatsheet.txt" file in the working folder
Thanks for the input, everyone! Enjoy.

Joe-- Fantastic work on the Pyramid Editor. It's getting better & better each time! One thing I did notice (and I'm not sure if it's with the editor or the way Todd's program is reading it), but when I create a file with the editor, the $200 & $250 categories are reversed during game play. Similar to the reversal being done in the front game with the middle row of categories. When I look at the text file created for "bonus", the categories are switched there as well (the $200 category is in the 5th of 6 positions & the $250 category is in the 4th of 6 positions).
Thanks for all of your work so far!

He's right. I can't believe I didn't see that myself. (Prolly 'cuz it loads right in the editor.) Good catch. Oog. That's gonna suck, fixing the games I already have.

Service with a smile! Thanks again, Joe. (Screw. I'm just gonna keep the games as they are. What's the difference in difficulty on the second line most times, anyhow?

(Screw. I'm just gonna keep the games as they are. What's the difference in difficulty on the second line most times, anyhow? Wait! I found a cool program that will find and replace text in a flash! It's called ReplaceEm: www.boolean.ca/replace/I tried it and it works! Here's how to swap "cat14" and "cat15" in the bonus.txt files: * Install and run ReplaceEm * You'll see a "Programming Replace Group" folder. Go to "Replace > Insert File(s) To... >" then select the above folder. * In the new window, under "Source File", click "Use folder" * Next to "Include File Filter", type "bonus.txt" * Under "Source File/Folder Path", browse to the main folder containing the subfolders to all your Pyramid games. Make sure "Include files in all subfolders" is checked. * Under the "Backup" tab, you can decide if you want ReplaceEm to create backup files. * Click OK to close the window * In the main window, under "Original Text", double-click the first empty field. Type "cat14" (no quotes). * Tab to the next field under "Replacement Text", double-click and type "cat14*" * Tab and type in the next two rows: "cat15", "cat14" and "cat14*", "cat15" * Click the icon in the top-right (Start Replacing), then click "Yes" * It should swap every instance of "cat14" and "cat15" in all bonus.txt files included in all subfolders of the root folder you chose. I'm sorry for not catching this bug earlier. I hope this helps you, Chris, and anyone else that saved a lot of games with my editor. Joe

I'm sorry for not catching this bug earlier. It's okay, man, it's not a big deal I hope this helps you, Chris, and anyone else that saved a lot of games with my editor. As always, the effort is appreciated, but the question is, how long has this bug existed? Was it in the original release, or was it introduced when you lost the old one and had to reconstruct from scratch? The question for me is more an issue of which games need fixing, since I don't remember exactly how the categories fell on the shows I'm transcribing.

Chris,
Are you ever going to make your collection of "question packs" available in public domain? I was going to start making my own packs, but I figured, why re-invent the wheel...

Chris, Are you ever going to make your collection of "question packs" available in public domain? I was going to start making my own packs, but I figured, why re-invent the wheel... I'm leaning towards yes right now, though I can guarantee you that gravy train will come to a swift halt the second anyone starts to pester me that they're not coming out fast or soon enough for their liking. I'll be happy to post what I have finished, but I'm gonna do it on my own timeline.

I hate it when people do that too. Plenty of other things in life to take care of. No problem. I'll enjoy them when you post them!
