To Todd,
I understand your reply very much.
But I thought about the point which you brought up on the commercial breaks.
I guess most people won't cut to commercial, especially at company parties.
But the reason I brought this up was because when I would do it, (well I usually do it for leisure, I might do it publicly one day,) well if there were a commercial break feature, I would use it just because it would be like the real show, like it was on TV.
Did you ever see the "Body Language" or FEUD shows done by John Ricci Jr. from the jrjgames.com site. Well on those shows that he did, he cut to commercial breaks during those shows, complete with music, but all it was was fade to black, and fade back to picture. I don't know about FEUD LIVE that's also promoted on his site, because I haven't got a chance to see it yet.
But I guess I could just use the music then, but then I remember that the digital board would be missing.
Well you could leave out the music and just have the board spin to digital and we can use our own music which we can download from other sites.
Anyway with the point on the commercial breaks, I guess I didn't read them, because I used the search for the forums and I didn't get any returns for the commercials.
Anyway it's up to you whether you want to include this feature in later editions of FEUD of course.
But that's my take on the commercials idea.
Thank you so much for reading and maybe considering my ideas. I really appreciate it, and let me know what you think.
Take care, Chris

Todd, if it makes the people happy, just put a option for commerials at the main menu.

Hi Todd, With a lot of ideas floating around about designing and building "faceoff" devices, I wanted to share something I thought about which could be very effective, yet very simple for you to add in your Presentation Remake. For those who build (or have built) a stand-alone "faceoff" unit, what about adding the "ring-in" sounder on a key even when the "Faceoff" mode is not selected on setup? That way, the board operator could add the sound when a player has triggered their lights. That would offer a much simpler (and much, much cheaper) alternative for those building units who want to feature the ring-in audio. Anyway, thanks for all the fantastic work you do! And I sincerely wish you and your family the happiest of the holiday season! GMac

My idea about having a stand alone face off poduim is this, Still have the program work with the face off option but instead of a close up of the face off poduim just show a wide shot of the big board. That way you can still have the program do the sound effect when someone rings in and the board could light up behind you in the direction of the person that rang in. Just like it did on the show.

Todd, if it makes the people happy, just put a option for commerials at the main menu. you know what, if it isnt too much work for the commercial break, i say its a good idea....too many times ive had people need to do something in the middle of the games and i ve had to wait for them..

...I'm sorry, I just don't get the commercial idea. What could you possibly need to do between a 15-minute game that would require stopping it? It's a bit of a rhetorical question so don't jump at answering it.
Concerning the Face-Off podium setups, I'm not going to have millions of options to change millions of things. To me, I want the game to be an accurate portrayal of the show but I just can't accomidate everyone's individual setups. Plus, you don't want to have so many options that it overwhelms the casual user. Believe it or not, some people can't even figure out how to customize the game.
I'll really try to meet most setups people might be using but I can't make it work for every possible situation.

Remember that young lady with the horrendous smile who was on a week ago that interupted Richard just before reading the round 3 question just to whisper in his ear "I have to go to the potty!"? Why didn't she go during the commercial break!? Yeah I know you said it was a "rhetorical" question, but there was a good answer for it.

I know this may be a weird idea to suggest but one of the things I noticed was there are no credits. When the game ends the theme music just loops over and over again. I think at the end there should be the credits then a fade-out to black like it is on TV. In my oppion it would add to the realism. If the credits is a bad idea I think there should deffinatly be a fade-out to black at the end.

I do agree there is no need to have the theme song looped, but even I think credits (rolling or stationary) is reaching just a little.
